Dr Rachel Lakemond is a dedicated and compassionate GP who grew up locally in Brisbane. She completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Queensland, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery at Griffith University. After gaining valuable experience at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane, Rachel moved to the UK, where she completed her General Practice training before returning home to Australia.
Dr Lakemond has worked across a range of healthcare settings, including full-service general practice clinics, Medicare Urgent Care Clinics, and Telehealth services. She enjoys the variety and continuity that general practice offers and is committed to providing high-quality, personalised care to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
She holds additional qualifications including a Diploma in Women’s Health and a Diploma in Football Medicine. Rachel stays current with Advanced Life Support, procedural skills training, and ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) through the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
Dr Lakemond is passionate about building long-term relationships with her patients and feels privileged to support them through every stage of life, from simple concerns to complex medical needs.
